Yet again, I’m going to give this thing another go. I rather stupidly let my hosting package expire a while ago and didn’t get around to archiving my site properly. I therefore lost my site and the host didn’t have a backup which isn’t unreasonable considering I wasn’t paying them any more. I’ve been a bit cheeky and copied my content from archive.org’s Wayback Machine so there may be a few posts which have dead image links – I’m going to tidy those up as I see them. All the words that I wrote previously should be there though.
I’m still using SGIS Hosting to host this site; they’re good value, they give me unlimited SSD space, unlimited bandwidth and an SSL certificate for a princely £6 a month. They do cheaper packages, but they don’t come with a certificate. I did costings on an SSL certificate and worked out it wouldn’t cost any more to get the cheaper package and a third party cert so I went with the posh package instead.
I’ve also changed my WordPress theme, I’m now using one called Newsup, which I think looks quite nice. I just need to find a new header image.
I’ve said this before, but I really am going to try hard to keep this site a bit more up to date. I’m sure all three of my followers will be delighted!
